From the facilitator,
Hello, my name is Daniel Nutt and I want to welcome you to contact me via email or phone if you live with social anxiety and want to meet with others like yourself in the Henry County, Georgia area. I have wanted to be a part of a social anxiety group that is local to the Henry county area for some time and I hope that through this website "Social Anxiety Groups" others in this area of south metro Atlanta will find this and respond to the need for fellowship, learning, and encouragement among us who deal with trying to overcome social anxiety.
As of today, Saturday April 18, 2009 we will be waiting for interested individuals to contact me and we'll get a group started and we'll start the encouragement, friendship, and victory. As the facilitator I will take responsibility for setting up meeting times and places and setting up fair and trustworthy guidelines for the group. As a person with social anxiety, taking the opportunity and risk of putting this out there and taking charge is "scary" but I am so excited to have the opportunity to help you and also myself through the sharing and learning of our mutual problem with socializing comfortably.
Depending on the interests and needs of those who contact me we will be open to using a curriculum or none at all. The goal is to make helpful connections and learn and practice techniques for socializing comfortably; we will be flexible, relaxed, respectful, and accomodating as possible.
